Nov. 3: Mr. Nicholas DiMartino appointed new Principal at Rogers Middle School
Mr. Nicholas DiMartino was appointed the new Principal of Rogers Middle School by the West Irondequoit CSD Board of Education at Thursday night’s board meeting. An Assistant Principal at Dake Junior High School for the past three years, Mr. DiMartino will start in his new role on Jan. 2, 2024.
“We couldn't be more excited to announce Mr. DiMartino as the next Principal of Rogers,” said Dr. Aaron Johnson, Superintendent of Schools. “Mr. DiMartino is a proven leader who is experienced in the norms and culture of our district. He has demonstrated a consistent model of lifelong learning and understands the significance of building supportive and trusting relationships with students, staff, and families. I know he will be a collaborative and inclusive leader who puts students first.”
Mr. DiMartino started at Dake in November of 2020. Prior to that, he was an English Language Arts teacher (grades 7-8) and Special Education teacher in the Honeoye Falls-Lima CSD. Along with his teaching responsibilities at HF-L, he was Team Chairperson for Middle School Improvement, a Technology Trainer and Co-Teaching Trainer, among other roles. Prior to that, he taught ELA in the Fairport CSD for one year.
A Webster Schroeder High School graduate, Mr. DiMartino earned his undergraduate degree in English and Adolescent Education in May 2014 from St. John Fisher University. He also owns a Master’s Degree from Fisher in Grades 7-12 Special Education. In 2020, he earned his Building and School Leadership advanced certification from the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education.
Over the next two months, Mr. DiMartino will work with Interim Rogers Principal, Mr. Peter Hens, and other Rogers staff as he transitions to his new leadership position.
