INTERNET ACCESS DURING CLOSURE

Spectrum (844-488-8395) has offered families with students who do not currently have access to WiFi free installation and no billing on their basic plan for 60 days.  Cancellation within 60 days results in no fees.

Greenlight Networks (585-351-6600) has offered to waive installation fees for home WiFi during this closure in the areas it supports.

Irondequoit Public Library has ordered 200 mobile hotspots to bridge the gap as Spectrum ramps up free service to students without internet access (see above).  The hotspots will be prioritized to lend to Irondequoit students who need internet access, as well as Irondequoit residents without internet access who are quarantined or need to work from home.  The district is coordinating with families to provide a list of those in potential need of these hot spots.  The library is hoping to receive the hotspots by mid-April, and may order more if need outpaces supply.  Wi-Fi may also be accessed from the public library parking lot.  Patrons are asked to be mindful of first responder services sharing that space.

Additionally, West Irondequoit Central School District has outside access available for students from building parking lots.  Areas with strong signal strength include the parking lot to the south of Rogers/Southlawn, Irondequoit High School's southwest (teacher) parking lot / loading dock area, Listwood School's north parking lot, and Iroquois Middle School's west entrance (teacher) parking lot near the 4th grade wing.
