In a four-candidate race for one seat, Melissa N. Bohrer was chosen by district residents to serve on the West Irondequoit CSD Board of Education via a Special Election on Tuesday. The final vote count:

-Melissa N. Bohrer 278 votes
-Tamara Wall 127
-Mike Fischer 102
-Gary Adams 67 votes

The vacant seat on the seven-member board was created by the resignation of Courtney Shouse, on Oct. 6, 2023. The Board of Education opted for a Special Election rather than appointing a new member. Mrs. Bohrer was sworn in after the vote Tuesday night and will serve the remainder of Shouse’s term, serving through June 30, 2025. Thank you to everyone who voted.
