Board of Education Election 2022

The Board of Education is made up of seven district residents, who serve as volunteers. The board sets policy for the school district; policy which is put into action by the superintendent and his staff. 
Members are elected to office at the district vote and serve three-year terms. Terms are staggered so that two or three seats are open each year.

Candidate Qualifications
  1. Must be able to read and write.
  2. Must be qualified voter of the district, that is, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, and not deemed incompetent by a court. (Note: A convicted felon is barred from running for a seat on a school board, if his/her maximum prison sentence has not expired, or if he/she has not been pardoned or discharged from parole.)
  3. Must be and have been a resident of the district for a continuous and uninterrupted period of at least one year immediately before the election.
  4. May not have been removed from any school district office within the preceding year. 
  5. May not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family. 
  6. May not be a current employee of the district.
  7. May not simultaneously hold another incompatible office.
