Statement from Superintendent Crane on safety

Tuesday update on safety from Superintendent Crane
Posted on 09/25/2018
West Irondequoit Central School District Superintendent Jeff Crane has issued the following statement to update the community:

“We understand the community’s concern and desire for more information following Monday’s news, and we know these are unique and unsettling circumstances. However, we cannot compromise state or federal education law that protects the privacy of every student by providing more detailed information about this situation.

Student misconduct is always addressed through the District’s Code of Conduct, which can be found on our website (for example, pages 17-18). The District has taken measures to address the safety of our students. As always, the safety of our students, staff, and entire District community is our highest priority.”
