Posted on 04/08/2019

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Earlier today Irondequoit High School principal Mr. Doug Lauf was announced as the next Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Labor Relations for the Fairport Central School District effective July 1, 2019.

Mr. Lauf has proudly served the West Irondequoit community as Irondequoit High School principal since March 2014. During his tenure, Mr. Lauf has worked hard to enhance Irondequoit High School's strong sense of community and high bar for excellence. Dedicated to supporting all children, Mr. Lauf has been instrumental in fostering an inclusive and supportive program for children to explore their interests and talents in a physically, mentally and emotionally safe environment. On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to thank Mr. Lauf, who lives in Fairport, for the impact he has had on our students, staff and District.

As we prepare for this transition, the West Irondequoit Central School District is committed to finding the right leader to carry Irondequoit High School into the future. Casting a wide net, we are determined to find the person who complements the inclusive and nurturing personality of our schools. To do so, we are currently developing an inclusive selection and hiring process and expect to have our next high school principal in place by early July.

More information regarding this process will be available on our District website very soon.  In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding your child's educational programs and services, please follow the normal chain of communication.

Aaron R. Johnson, Ed. D
