Effective 05-21-14: Suspend hiring of 8 Enrollment Based Full Time Employees (teachers) resulting in increased class sizes K-12.


K-6 Class Sizes = 24-28

7-12 Class Sizes = 27-32


By law, if the budget is not approved by 60% of voters on June 17, the tax levy must remain at the current dollar amount. The Board will have to cut $1.5 million from the proposed budget to reach this level, and must consider cuts to non-mandated programs. Non-mandated programs include:



  • 12th grade Advanced Placement Electives / “Domino” Effect ELA/LOTE/Math/Science/Social Studies

  • 7-12 Electives: Business, Technology, Art, Music and Health

  • Co-Curricular Stipends (including Odyssey of the Mind and musicals)

  • Conferences

  • Contact Teacher Stipends

  • Field Trips (including Outdoor Education)

  • Helmer Nature Center Closed

  • Modified Sports (grades 7, 8 and 9)

  • New Teacher Orientation

  • New York State School Boards Association Membership

  • Operation and Maintenance Personnel Adjustments

  • Service Learning at Dake

  • Staff Development

  • Teacher Learning Center Closed

  • Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Teachers Program

  • Trainer Services - Athletics
